
Reviews of books originally published for children and young adults are written by students at Union Presbyterian Seminary as a part of their work for the course described below. The reviews are created using a common set of evaluative questions which consider literary elements and style as well as theology, Scripture and faith questions that can be the used with different age groups.

- Using Children’s and Adolescents’ Literature in the Church. This course engages students in considering 1) theological, educational and developmental rationale for engaging children’s and/or adolescents’ books as part of educational ministry with all ages in the local church, 2) processes and criteria for evaluating and selecting children’s and adolescents’ books, and 3) concrete settings, methods, and techniques for using children’s and adolescents’ books to actively engage learners.
